NettForge is a zero-knowledge password manager made in South Africa. It does what the big global names do (stores every login, fills them in for you, fills 2FA codes, keeps passkeys, tells you what to fix) and it adds a few things they do not: prices in rand, a free plan that is actually usable, and network tools for the ISPs and IT companies it was born in.
Why a South African password manager?
- Prices in rand. No dollar conversion, no surprise when the exchange rate moves. Personal is R79 a month, and you can pay yearly to save 18%.
- A company you can talk to. NettForge is built and run in South Africa. You deal with people in your own time zone, and you can contact us directly.
- Built by people who run networks. NettForge started inside an internet provider. That is why it understands routers, switches and OLTs, which most password managers do not. See NettForge for IT.
- Less to leak. Because the system is zero-knowledge, we hold locked boxes we cannot open. There is no readable password database on our side for anyone to steal.
What you get for free
The Free plan is not a short trial. It stays free:
- Unlimited passwords, cards, secure notes and identities, on unlimited devices, kept in sync.
- The browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Brave (Firefox is coming) with PIN unlock.
- Built-in 2FA codes, up to 10 of them, so you do not need a separate authenticator app.
- The Security score, which finds weak, reused and old passwords and tells you what to fix first.
- Self-destructing Send, for sharing a password without leaving it in a chat.
When Personal is worth it
Personal is R79 a month with a 14-day free trial and no card needed. If you do not subscribe you simply drop back to Free. It adds Autopilot (NettForge signs you in by itself), unlimited 2FA codes that are filled for you, passkeys, private breach alerts, emergency access for someone you trust, and password expiry reminders. See every difference on the pricing page.
For IT companies, ISPs and MSPs
If you manage other people's networks, you have a harder password problem: dozens of routers, towers and clients, and technicians who come and go. NettForge for IT adds shared client folders with their own keys, logins that try your saved credentials in order, WinBox and SSH quick connect, and leaver tools. Plans are Teams R129, Business R179 and MSP R229 per user per month, and are in early access. Start with the guide on a password manager for MikroTik teams.
Works where you work
- Windows app: daily encrypted backups, safe self-updates and network tools.
- Web vault: works in any browser, and installs on your phone from the browser.
- Browser extension: logs you in, fills 2FA codes and offers to save new logins. It only fills a login on the website it was saved for.
About POPIA. NettForge helps by design: we cannot read your passwords, so there is very little personal data on our side for us to hold, protect or lose. It is not a compliance certificate. If your business has POPIA duties, talk to your own adviser about how a password manager fits into them.
Coming from another password manager?
You can bring your logins over in a few minutes from Chrome, Edge, Bitwarden, 1Password, LastPass or KeePass. Follow how to switch password managers without losing a login, or see how we compare with the others.
