Billing & Refunds

Exactly how payments, debit orders, cancellations and refunds work — no surprises.

Last updated: 8 August 2026

1. The free trial

Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial, and you can add a payment method at any point so your subscription continues without interruption when the trial ends. If you add no payment method, paid features simply pause when the trial is over — nothing is charged.

2. How billing works

  • Cycle: you choose monthly or yearly. Monthly renews every 30 days; yearly renews every 12 months and works out cheaper per month.
  • Recurring charge: by subscribing you authorise a recurring charge — by card or by debit order — on each renewal date, until you cancel.
  • Receipts: we email a receipt for every successful payment, and you can see your billing history in your account.
  • Price changes: if we ever change prices, we'll tell you in advance; changes only apply to renewals after the notice period.

3. How your payment details stay safe

All payments run through a licensed, PCI-compliant payment gateway (for example PayFast, Ozow, Paystack or Stripe). NettForge never sees or stores your full card or bank-account numbers. The gateway collects those details securely on its own systems and returns only a token and a masked reference (such as the last four digits) so we can show you which method is on file.

4. Failed payments & account lock

If a scheduled payment fails — a bounced debit order, an expired card — we'll let you know and give you a chance to fix it. If the balance stays unpaid, your paid (Personal/Family) features lock until it's settled.

Your data is never affected by a lock. Your encrypted vault stays exactly where it is, on your device, and you can keep using the free core vault and export your backups at any time. We do not delete anything for non-payment. Settle the balance and everything unlocks immediately.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel any time from your account — no phone calls, no retention maze. When you cancel, you keep your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for, then drop back to the free vault. Cancelling also stops any future debit order.

6. Refunds

Because every plan includes a 14-day free trial, you only ever pay once you've had a chance to try everything. If something goes wrong after that — you were charged in error, or a feature genuinely didn't work — contact us within a reasonable time and we'll put it right, which may include a full or pro-rata refund at our discretion and as required by law. Nothing here removes any statutory refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer laws that apply to you.
