Our story

The safest server is the one that doesn't exist

NettForge started from a simple frustration: why should keeping your own passwords safe mean handing them to someone else's cloud?

Why we built it

Trust the maths, not the marketing

Every few months another company announces a breach — millions of vaults exposed, reset-your-everything emails, that sinking feeling. The pattern is always the same: your secrets were sitting on a server you didn't control, protected by a promise.

We wanted the opposite. A password manager where any server only ever holds locked boxes it cannot open — no readable vault to breach, sell or subpoena, and no company (not even us) able to read your passwords. Just strong, well-understood cryptography running on the device in front of you, syncing to your others as ciphertext.

# the whole trust model, honestly
who can read your vault? → only you
where does it live? → your devices, in sync
what do we store? → locked boxes only
what can leak from us? → nothing readable
What we stand for

Principles we won't compromise on

Privacy is the product

Not a feature we upsell — the whole point. If a decision weakens your privacy, it doesn't ship. Full stop.

You own your data

Your vault is a file on your machine you can back up, move, or delete. No lock-in, no hostage-taking, no "export is a premium feature".

No dark patterns

Clear pricing, easy cancellation, no data selling, no ads. You fund the forge; we build the tools. That's the deal.

Where we're headed

A small tool, forged with care

NettForge is built deliberately, in the open, one solid release at a time.

v1 — the core vault

Local, encrypted password storage with folders, generator and a health dashboard. The foundation.

v1.1 — freedom & polish

Unlimited nested folders, colour coding, click-to-copy, and full password reveal in the list.

Next on the anvil

TOTP two-factor, per-resource 2FA codes, passkey unlock, password history and auto-backups.
